Photoshop Tutorial: Resizing Your Pictures.

Welcome to Web Whiz! If you add a picture onto your website, but you only want it to be half the size it is, you can always edit the html code to make the picture smaller. There is a problem however, even if you change the html code, the website will still contain all of the information in the picture. All that happens is that only half of the picture is displayed. When your website holds all of that information, it will slow down. How do we resize our pictures? Watch this tutorial to find out.

  1. Open the picture on Pse (Photo Shop Elements).
  2. Click on the box that says so many inches by so many inches. It should tell you how many pixels by how many pixels your picture is.
  3. Click on File, than New, and than Blank File.
  4. Type in a name for your picture.
  5. In the boxes labeled Width and Height enter HALF of the pixel sizes in the original picture.
  6. Click Ok.
  7. Drag the picture from the original picture into the new picture.
  8. Drag the corners until the picture is the right size.

Congratulations! You now know how to re-size your pictures.
